I tried unchecking it, but word still displays the info screen when i open a document. I have spent so much time and efforts trying to solve this issue, that i think my best option is to buy a new computer. Try downloading the documents to your local drive and then try opening them via file>open in word.

However, all of a sudden whenever i open a word document, even one that i know i created with my 2010 version of word, every single document opens in read only and compatibility mode. I've tried stopping the tracking, saving, closing but every time i open up another new document, tracking is once again turned on.
